The Importance of Navy Oilers

For persons to understand how important a Navy Oiler is and to know that "OIL" will be important to the navy for decades, I have created a web site in hopes that a National Oiler Museum can be created. I am trying to gain the attention of persons who can submit a business plan to the navy wherein the ship USS Kawishiwi AO-146 can be removed from the reserve fleet in Suisun Bay, cleaned up and moored where large quantities of people can explore the museum. Please view: http://www.memorieshop.com/Seattle/index.html

  1. Vern Bouwman, who is the webmaster for my old Navy ship's website, has done a terrific job with the website, and of trying to save our old ship, the USS Kawishiwi AO-146, into having it turned into a museum in the port of Seattle. It takes a lot of time and effort for something like this, and Vern would be the one to do it. He also hosted the 2005 Kawishiwi reunion in San Francisco, and it was a great success.
